On December 22, 2017, VHATTC-UMP in collaboration with the National Drug Dependence Treatment Center (NDDTC) - All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) India successfully organized the online lecture series on Co-occurring Mental Disorders of SUD patients - 1st topic: DEPRESSION, using The ECHO model™.

Although there may still be some limitations and shortcomings during the first e-training hosting, the lecture has successfully attracted over 60 access points with 100 participants as estimated.

Treatment of patients with substance use disorders is a long-term process that requires regular monitoring and evaluation due to the complexity not only of substance use but also other co-existence of mental disorders on patients.

We hope that through the lecture, participants will have an overview of depression, or more accurately referred to in the terminology of the diagnosis as "Depression Episode." This presentation is limited to the introduction of the condition, screening and some pharmaceutical interventions. We hope that in the future we can go back to this condition to dig deeper the signs and discuss more comprehensively about non-medication interventions such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), etc.
